Focus on Spotty

Here's Spotty on today's trip around/over Bonsai Mountain. A very handsome dog, his litter name has stuck, Spotty. All our pups get given a quick litter name, usually the first thing we notice about them, so Lucky was just that, a lucky pup who took a lot of reviving at birth and he is now Lucky Harry, a very lovely Berner. Spotty had a small over mark on the back of his neck, just visible now, and he went off to his forever family who called him Rocky. Unfortunately his forever family had a sudden change of circumstance 8 weeks after he left and he came back to us (we insist on this) and so as there can be only one Rocky, Rocky II had to revert to Spotty. His real name is Dolyhir Tropic Thunder, which is far more impressive. Just like him.

Mmmm Tasty!

Buddy is finding his paws with his new owners and is sampling tasty treats. The mint choc chip stolen from his owners daughter got him in a spot of bother, not nearly as much bother as trying to sample guinea pig.

The waiting game continues. Tomorrow we are going to put the whelping box together. Just in case!

Defo Preggers

Vet called today, monster list of jabs, tests, and ailments to treat amongst the critters, while she was here we got her to have a quick grope around Reba and its confirmed, defo preggers. We did think due date 12th June, vet thinks somewhat sooner as the pup she felt was about fist sized.

The Bernese Mountain Dog Great Britain Club Annual Party 2011

The Bernese Mountain Dog Great Britain Club Annual Party 2011 came round again last Sunday 22 May so Wanda and Nick took Morgan, Reubens brother to see the sights and smells of a big Berner meet. He was bathed before he went but much like his brother this didnt last and he needed a bath before he came home!

Carting is something I have fancied a go at, that and hang gliding, but its got no further than looking at others dog carts, harness and flags annd wondering where they get them from. Super Grandma is off to Switzerland next week so we are sending her with a shopping list. Lets hope the bus has a big boot!

Reuben and Socks seem to have hit it off. Socks has the stamina, Reuben has the weight advantage, so rough and tumbles are funny.

This is Poppy, a Berner owned by Tracey's uncle and aunt, Rodney and Maggie. Uncle Rodders had Berners when Tracey was growing up so its

probably his fault that we have Berners now.

But without dogs like these life would be a lot emptier so thank you Rodders!
