The two heavy weights are getting used to the idea of less calories in and more exercise. Biffer is even running, admittedly towards dinner but its a start. Bear can now manage 4 miles without keeling over.

 No, look closer, this isn't the Rockmeister at Rock HQ, its one of the fab four, the last litter of Rocky and Reba. This is the mighty Northern Rock, the warrior Trojan!

He is one big happy dog! Hopefully he will make the 2nd Annual Bernese Mountain Dog Treasure Hunt in June 2013!

That's how long this handsome lad has been at Rock HQ and he seems to have taken to it like a duck to water. Good job considering how much its rained in the last 14 days!

Lucy went home today so we are down one Berner. Roll call this evening, Rocky, Reba, Reuben, Spotty, Bliss, WooZah, Bear, Chester, Lucy (Grandma Lucy) and Bella.

In only seven days!

 It is only seven days ago that this handsome chap arrived back at Rock HQ all the way from the Emerald Isle. A lots happened for him in that time, meeting the clan, meeting the critters, getting to know the house rules (which sofas his and where his two legged companions sit on the floor) where to sit while the apprentice smallholder is eating so as to be sure to get the best handouts, which walks are the best, the best place to sleep (somehow he has managed to sleep in the master bedroom for the last two nights) and how to wrestle a lurcher cross Dalmatian puppy.

So far he hasn't put a paw wrong and we are very happy that he has settled in so readily. It says a lot about the breed and the care that his previous owner gave him that he has turned out such a lovely lad. We are looking forward to lots of adventures with Bear, as soon as he has slimmed down a bit he is going to tackle one of the real mountains nearby with his brother, Spotty, and father, Rocky.
