You got a problem with this?

WooZah demonstrating her complete disregard for amphibians again, in the pond surrounded by irate tadpoles she pauses a moment and wonders why people have such a problem with her love of pond water.
An excellent picture taken by Jo, or Steve, who visited last Saturday to check how their puppy Squealer is doing. Squealer will be starting a new life on the Isle of Man in a few weeks time. Most pups will be with their new owners on the weekend of the 29-5-2010 but as its the TT race Jo and Steve are having to wait a week due to the ferries being fully booked. They have decided on Nessa as a name for their Berner which I think is Manx for "pure" or "holy, unlike WooZah which is smallholding for "sitting in ponds" or "big wet stinky Berner".

Stand by me

Small changes

You notice tiny changes in the pups almost hourly. For some time now they have been walking, they seem to spend a lot of time sitting up and watching goings on from the whelping box. The seemingly endless procession of Berners walking past and sticking their noses in checking to see if they are ok must provide them with hours of entertainment. Reba is very tolerant of these visits. The pups try and play with each other but they are bit uncoordinated so lots of falling over and yelps of indignation. They certainly are a lot noisier, growls, barks, yips all manner of high pitched attempts at sounding like a real dog. The introduction of puppy mush food is a success, they cant get enough of it, if they don't eat it they swim in it. Same goes for the water bowl, clumsy attempts at lapping ends with watery sneezes but they soon got the hang of it and were expert at lapping a bowl of goats milk. But the best sign of progress so far is tail wagging. It started properly last night. Frantic side to side beating of their little tails as we spent some time giving them fuss. Soon they will be climbing out of the box, at the rate they are growing they probably have already!

Dogs life

Sitting in the shade chewing a beef knuckle bone, its a tough life for a member of the Dolyhir Clan!

Under starters orders!

A big day for the new members of the Dolyhir clan, solid food. Reba is doing a grand job feeding these little monsters but they all have teeth and she is getting a bit sore so the time is right to introduce solids. The plate of mushed up puppy kibble with goats milk was put in front of the pups.
Within seconds Biffer was staking a claim to most of it, Squealer and Pebbles were either side. Ribbon soon got the idea and bulldozed them all out of the way sitting right in the centre. Lucky Harry got his paws covered and spent a good half hour walking in circles sucking his toes.
The day of clean puppies is over!

When love comes calling

Look at this handsome lad, irresistible to the ladies. As he is such a good tempered, well built show winning and above all proven puppy making type he is available as a stud dog. Today a prospective mate called Elsa visited Rock HQ to see if they got on. She seemed happy with him, and she got on with all the other Berners here so she may come back and who knows there may be the the patter of little paws and another branch of the Dolyhir clan established.

Guess who?

Guess who this is.
Actually it isnt WooZah up to her neck in it as usual, no, this is Fizz her sister demonstrating an affinity to WooZahs aquatic habits by playing in a local river where she lives. Liz just sent the pics in taken on her phone which is why they are a bit blurred. Good to see Fizz looking so happy and that someone else has muddy paw prints on their floors as well as us!
