Spot the difference

One is a brilliant painting by a very talented artist,
the other is a quick snapshot by an idiot with a camera.

Final warning!

Aunty WooZah a tad annoyed at the antics of Ritchie and Tasha. Running past and pulling her tail is not the best way of getting into her good books!

Shes so fwuffy!

Heres some action shots of Luna "enjoying" a bath
shes certainly better behaved than our two when it comes to baths, no sign of the owners getting as wet as she is!
Perfect! How fwuffy is this coat!

Sneak preview

We have just been sent this sneak preview of the founder members of the Dolyhir Clan's portraits as painted by the very talented Clare Villar. We are hoping to have the picture on the wall next to Reuben's and Ripley's portraits by the end of the week. Anyone wanting Clare's contact details just ask.

No Chance

You know how it is, you have a favourite chair and nothings gonna stop you using it
not even the arrival of a ton of building materials which your owner thinks is best stored on it!

Ticking along

Its an occupational hazard given the flora and fauna that surround the Dolyhir Clan that they pick up one of these horrid beasties from time to time. We are in the heart of sheep country, and heres a sheep tick just removed from poor Tasha. Theres a lot of squitter talked about the removal of these, old wives tales, fancy bits of kit to take them off or even the V E T and bills. Should you ever find one of these bloodsuckers having a feast on your K9 then all you need to do is gently rotate it ( the tick not the dog) for about a minute, it gets dizzy, lets go and tries to crawl away. You then pick it up, (the tick!) place it on a hard surface and hit it with a hammer, or similar. It makes a mess but a very satisfying popping sound, bit like that bubble wrap.

A letter from Mr Bo Jangles

Hi folks. Another week passes and I've made lots of friends again on my daily walks, as you can see by the photo I'm playing with my latest friend, my owners grandson, it was good fun as well, I loved his shoe laces. I hope you all have a peaceful week and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Life's good if not a little cold. Love Mr Bo Jangles.

A letter from Mr Bo Jangles

Hi Folks.
Bit late with this weeks blog, firstly we were sorry to hear about the Berner that was sadly put to sleep so our thoughts are with the forever family who sadly lost such a good companion.
Well it's been another busy week and I'm still growing at a rapid rate of knots, as you can see with my master feeding me a dinosaur bone. I've also learned to come back when called particularly as I always receive a reward such as a rich tea biscuit, my favourite snack, well I enjoy any type of food really, my forever family keep telling me what a good boy I am when I respond, well who wouldn't with the promise of a quick snack.
When I'm out walking people keep telling me that I'm a pretty boy, gets a bit waring at time when they pat me on the head, I've also made so many friends on my morning jaunts up the field where I can run and play. Life's really good and I'm showered with love and affection, what a life, that'll do for me.
Well I hope you all have a good week and that the weather is a bit better then of late, not long until Xmas, I wonder what presents i'll receive?? Can't wait.
Keep smiling, speak to you all next week
 Lots ofLove
 Bo Jangles XX

Are you sitting comfortably?

Reuben in a relaxed pose, but WooZah has her eye on his spot
Asking nicely doesnt make him move
but snogging her owner might prompt a reaction!

Action Berner

Spotty does it again, 15 mile cross country run where he had to jump countless fences and stiles
He even had the energy for a victory roll!
2 miles to go, feeling it but he will finish.
Journeys end, cakes a plenty for the brave Berner.

Thursday 14 November 2013

Action stations

Spotty the Dolyhir action Berner is ready for his next challenge. While yours truly runs 15 miles across country dressed as a Lion, Spotty will be with me every step of the way dressed as a Berner.
Training has been less than intense but hard enough.
With plenty of time to goof around!

Over the Rainbow

This is Biffer, born to the Dolyhir Clan 3 April 2010, the biggest pup of the litter Biffer was his nickname given at birth and kept by his forever family as it suited his size and temperament. He was a great big cuddly lump of a Berner, fantastic to have around and we loved having him come to stay with us for his holidays.
Poor Biffer was put down yesterday losing his fight against a very rare but very aggressive cancer. The poor lad developed a tumour in his nasal passage and despite the vets and specialists best efforts his forever family had to say goodbye to him yesterday. It was all very sudden, very quick and very traumatic for his family and we are all grieving his loss.
He was a very special dog and will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.

News blackout

There has been a tragic death in the Dolyhir Clan today so there is a 24 hour news blackout on the dog blog to ensure that all family members are properly informed before we publish the obituary. Berners are such lovely big dogs and when one departs they leave a very big gap in the lives of the family left behind. This is the first death of a full clan member and we are coming to terms with the sad news.
