A reminder

Here's the Rockmeister posing against a backdrop of the Bonsai Mountain which will, as will the track he is on, feature heavily in the 1st annual Dolyhir Bernese Mountain Dog Treasure Hunt on the 10 June 2012. You are invited and we would like to see as many of the clan, or members of other clans at the gathering, the walkabout and the pig roast. Starts midday, food from around 4pm on. Lets hope foe good weather and a large turnout! And lots of sausages. We should have plenty of them as we have one or two pigs!

This is Bliss, she has perfect hip scores, not that you can tell by the way she sits so sloppy. If sitting is too tiring then lying down is an option.

Birthday Boy

Its hard to believe that this handsome chap is two years old today and has been with us for nearly as long. We are hoping that this year Reuben will father a litter with Bliss, Rocky and Reba's daughter.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Dolyhir Clan. No news on Lucy's pups other than they are still eagerly awaited, she is a fine healthy Berner so all should be well. We took some of the magnificent seven around Worzel Wood again today and here's the clan top dog having a cold one from the river. Its not looking good, this river dried up last year and at this time of year it is usually flowing over the concrete ford on Rocky's right.

Birthday Bonanza!

Its the birthday of Rocky and Molly's litter. A year ago today four big beautiful Berners made their way into the world and we were lucky enough to be sent pictures of two of the "pups" today. The top one is Barney, a very handsome boy who takes after the Dolyhir Clan by having the same hobby, rolling in smelly stuff, while below is the Budmeister, Buddy boy. Hopefully we will see at least one of these great specimens at the first annual Dolyhir Bernese Mountain Dog Treasure Hunt 10th June 2012, here at The Bonsai Mountain.

Every day I load up a huge white bag, the type that 750kgs of feed is carried in, stuffed with hayledge, a cross between hay and silage (pickled grass) and drag it up the lane to the herbivores. Usually it doesn't take too long. Today it took ages as Dotty Woo decided to help me.

Final countdown

This is Lucy, a lovely girl who got down and dirty with Rocky February. Which means her owners could have a very busy Easter weekend. As soon as we know we will tell you. Fingers crossed all goes well. Good luck Lucy!
