Nice one Nala!

Julian and Anna have sent us a load of pictures of Nala (Tiny) who was a little bit smaller than this when she left Rock HQ.
But as you can see, much like Brooke she has grown bigger than her companion, in this case a collie called Bob.
And like all Berners they are keen to prove that they are in reality lap dogs.

Just in case

Reba went outside for a breath of fresh air and decided to make a nest in the hay. Just in case.

She's a big girl now

These pictures of Brooke were sent in by her owners today, she is a bit bigger than last time we saw her and towering over her companion Holly.

You've got the look

Reba is less than a week away from giving birth, at least that's what we think, she may have other ideas. We saw the puppies moving today which was quite exciting.
Tracey and I have a side bet on when she will actually give birth, Tracey thinks Tuesday, I have gone for Wednesday. Just before they give birth they get a sort of mad look in their eye.
Reba is practicing her look.

Bit of a mouthful

This is how to keep a Berner quiet for a while, Fizz with her birthday bone, looks like a right mouthful. Glad to see we are not the only ones who make their Berners wear hats on festive occassions :)

Birthday Girl

This is Fizz, a very happy Berner who has her own cake! Liz sent this picture to us of the birthday girl and Dale. We also heard from Mel and Harvey and Shane and Bear sent us a video which hopefully we can upload in a day or so. Good to see how they are all doing!

Car trouble

Spotty, Bliss and WooZah are off to the vets on Monday which should be quite an interesting experience for all concerned.
WooZah and Spotty are dab pawed when it comes to car journeys, no problem whatsoever, taking each journey in their stride, in fact Spotty even enjoys car rides, much like his mum and dad. So he is often seen in the car when we go visiting. Bliss on the other paw has a very different idea about cars and seeing as she has a box of mad frogs for a brain the idea of getting her into a confined space for any length of time is alien to us all. She even has her own peculiar ideas about leads and collars. She would rather die than wear a lead and whenever she has the chance she chews to collars off the other Berners. So today was the day for some car training.
I chose today as it was raining, everywhere was muddy, the dogs were wet so what could be more fun than 275kg of wet muddy smelly dog on your leather upholstery. Biscuits were used as a bribe and within a nanosecond Bliss was inside the Rx4, along with the others all scoffing treats. Tomorrow we are going to try to shut the doors and see how she copes with the engine running.
Life is such fun with Berners, especially a mad one.

Happy Birthday!

Time flies and it does not seem possible that a whole year has gone by since the birth of the pups that started the Dolyhir clan. Woozah, Bliss and Spotty have had extra biscuits as a birthday treat, I'm sure Harvey, Brooke, Fizz, Bear and Nala have been made a fuss of by their proud owners. Reba was a great mother to the litter and has about a week to go before she gives birth to some brothers and sisters to the clan.

Harvey is coming over for a visit, poor lads going to be a bit overwhelmed that day, his mum and dad Reba and Rocky will be here, a new litter of pups so some new brothers and sisters aside from WooZah, Bliss and Spotty. Also on their holidays will be his gran, Lucy, his Uncle, Chester and his adoptive aunt Montana. I will try to get all the adults in a photo but I have a feeling I might as well try to photograph the tooth fairy!

Hello Stranger!

Nala in her garden. This lovely dog hasn't been seen on these pages since she left Rock HQ so she sent us this picture in a Christmas card and I meant to publish it ever since. She really has grown into a stunning dog. We are lucky that the owners have kept in touch so we know what the Dolyhir clan are up to. Its their Birthdays tomorrow, we hope to hear from Brook and Bear as we haven't seen them for a while. So come on owners get snapping so we and the 1200 or so other people who log onto this site every day can have a look at how your dogs are doing!

In contrast

Spotty looking almost radioactive clean, how he manages to keep himself so bright is a wonder given the quantity of mud that we wallow in. Dotty his grotty sister on the other hand has a special type of fur that attracts filth.

Getting bigger

Reba is pregnant, we think so anyway, she is definitely getting bigger, either as a result of puppies growing inside her or because of all the food she is stealing alongside the extra rations she is getting. There are two weeks to go, last time she had eight pups, actually 12 but 4 were still born. The record for a litter according to Wikipedia is 16 with 14 surviving. We just want a few healthy ones but she does look like she is going to burst. Watch this space!

Scruff bag

Even on a walk around the bonsai mountain WooZah manages to get her paws and muzzle covered in black mud. She even has a crown of bracken.
