Highland Photography Lesson

OK he is trying to take "The" definitive Berner on a rocky highland beach picture.
 Right concentrate
How about the sad look? No?
 Bored?
 Distracted?
Ok, walk backwards away from me and I will sit here looking magnificent, but watch out behind you.
He fell. Knew it. Ho hum!

Back outdoors!

Day two found the Rockmeister in the warmest part of camp, clever dog this one!
Soon he was back outdoors on guard at the first camp site looking after the kit while we sourced water and level pitches for the tents.

My berth plus dog before tent goes up.

Posing on the beach!

Back where we started

You tell how strong the wind is by the way Rocky is leaning into it. Force 4 northerly.
So after a grim day outdoors what better place to sleep than under the breakfast cereals!

Rocky's Highland Adventure

Day one, after 500 miles sat in a very small space amongst the rations for 12 people in the back of a Land Rover Discovery, Rocky gets his first glimpse of the Highland weather and landscape.

Being a mountain dog has its advantages, double thick coat kept him dry, large paws meant he did not sink in the bogs.
His instinct to shepherd the group came to the fore and he went along the line making sure we were all OK, a real morale booster.
Finally we headed down from the mountain to our quarters, first night in a shed.

Where he slept

and slept! Not the bag placed against the door to stop the wind blowing it open!

Let sleeping dogs lie

Here's Rocky fast asleep as we head south after an 8 day adventure in the Highlands of Scotland. He had a great time, was a fantastic morale booster for a group of weather battered explorers as we trudged across murderous terrain, and was an excellent source of heat in a tiny tent.

Just because I have "mountain dog" in my name doesn't actually mean you have to take me too one.
I mean whats the point, up and down
 There and back again. Why?
OOOhhh picnic! Is that my ham sandwich?
Its yours? Share? Halvers? Corners? Go on, give it over!
Right follow me, the cars this way!
Ooooh my soothe my aching paws! Now fetch me an ice cream and I want sprinkles!

Almost there

Rippers and Reuby, nearly together in the same picture!

Sister Act!

I tried to get a good picture of Reuby and her sister Ripley but as Rippers is a mad as  box of frogs on hot day it was doomed to failure
and with St Bernards photo  bombing
or exciting things to go and sniff it was all doomed to fail.
