 Spotty does it again, 15 mile cross country run where he had to jump countless fences and stiles

 He even had the energy for a victory roll!

 2 miles to go, feeling it but he will finish.

Journeys end, cakes a plenty for the brave Berner.

 Spotty the Dolyhir action Berner is ready for his next challenge. While yours truly runs 15 miles across country dressed as a Lion, Spotty will be with me every step of the way dressed as a Berner.

 Training has been less than intense but hard enough.

With plenty of time to goof around!

Over the Rainbow

 This is Biffer, born to the Dolyhir Clan 3 April 2010, the biggest pup of the litter Biffer was his nickname given at birth and kept by his forever family as it suited his size and temperament. He was a great big cuddly lump of a Berner, fantastic to have around and we loved having him come to stay with us for his holidays.

 Poor Biffer was put down yesterday losing his fight against a very rare but very aggressive cancer. The poor lad developed a tumour in his nasal passage and despite the vets and specialists best efforts his forever family had to say goodbye to him yesterday. It was all very sudden, very quick and very traumatic for his family and we are all grieving his loss.

 He was a very special dog and will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him.

Biffer 3-4-2010 to 12-11-13 RIP

News blackout

There has been a tragic death in the Dolyhir Clan today so there is a 24 hour news blackout on the dog blog to ensure that all family members are properly informed before we publish the obituary. Berners are such lovely big dogs and when one departs they leave a very big gap in the lives of the family left behind. This is the first death of a full clan member and we are coming to terms with the sad news.

A letter from Mr Bo Jangles

Hi Folks, Well here we are again, another wet week over with, as you can see I'm pampered beyond belief, I'm to lazy to hold my chew, well I don't have to my mistress does that for me. I've been a very good boy this week and made lots of friends during my morning walks. Not quite sure how much weight I've gained this week but no doubt I'll be weighed during the weekend, my master returned from Manchester this evening after being away all week and we had lots of cuddles, I was so excited that I bit him again as I always do? Anyways we hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend, lets hope the weather improves for next week. Keep smiling, life's good. Lots of love Mr Bo Jangles X

A letter from Luna

Hi All, The weeks are flying by and I have been so busy. I go to puppy classes where I have learnt to do lots of things, sit, down and leave. I'm not too good at the sit and stay bit, I don't want to leave their side. I heard that is a Berner thing. I go out for some short walks too now - there are lots of scary things around like little humans, aka children, some of them shout and then this week fireworks. I have just been outside now trying to get used to them. It is OK when the boss is with me. I am up to 15 kgs now that's up 6kgs in the last month. I do like my food, I get lots of different things and most of them I really like especially if it is human food, marshmallows, poppadoms, sausages and yesterday a small piece of Steak and Stilton pasty ! They don't let me have too much thought. Here are some of the latest snapshots.....

Growing pains

 In between bothering builders (see tales from the rock) and chewing brand new cookery books, the terrible two have been doing their best to keep up with their sleep.

 Ritchie and little t seem to have bonded, here he is getting a nose tickle.

Tasha went to the kitchen and made a bed out of a plastic bag, strange considering she has a plush deep soft bed just a tail wag away.

There's always one!
