I would have put a great picture they sent of Buddy sending his condolences but readers of the TFTR site will know of the rise of the machines and understand that the inability to download pics is not due to human incompetence but due to technogremloids mucking about in the matrix. When normal service is resumed I will share the pics.  

Not a Berner thing

This is Preston, unlike a Berner, a dog blessed with a longevity gene, aged 23. He crossed the rainbow bridge today, his swan song was to wake the household at 3.30 am to let us know he was hanging on in there, he refused breakfast and died this afternoon on my coat in his bed. Its almost impossible to be sad about this, he lived a fantastic life, loved the outdoors, hated rides in the back of the air-portable  Land Rover we used to take him to the common in before he came with us to HQ 7 years ago. A unique dog, we will miss him and loved sharing our lives with him (sometimes our food when we weren't paying attention) so we say farewell to a very funny old dog.

 Heres Abbie, lying down next to her best mate Ruby. The Reservoir Pups and the Heli Crew are 6 months old now, time flies. Abbie is a heft 26.6 kg and like the rest of the new clan members has a tight perm.

It wasn't me

I found this on my phone. Two things. I didn't take the picture and I didn't know you could make a fool of your dog by making him look like he is driving a cartoon car with gubbins in the phone. But our 2 year 11 month old toddler did and can.
At the 3rd Annual Dolyhir Bernese Mountain Dog Treasure Hunt, June 8th 2014, there will be a photo competition, categories include funniest dog and best Banzai. Get snapping!

A letter from Mr Bo Jangles

Hi Folks It's me again, sorry for not Emailing a blog last week, I was to busy walking and playing around. As you can see I'm fit, healthy and growing by the day, mind I never stop eating but everybody tells me what a good boy I am. Well it was a lovely day today, I wish it was like this all the time, more rain forecast next week though, never mind, soon be spring, Wishing you all a good week. Meet Dyson

 Here is Oscar, formerly Mr Green from the reservoir pups, a mighty handsome boy who is affectionately know by his family as Oscamps. All Berners have nicknames, Oscamps is earning the name Dyson at the moment due to his antics that include an ability to reach every worksurface in the kitchen so reaching his treat box which he promptly destroyed, burst and aerosol can of squirty cheese, shredded a roll of pooh sacks, ate a dishcloth, thankfully puked and pooped that out, opened a tin of dog food and licked out nearly all the contents before chewing the tin and has broken out in a tight perm of curls along his back. He is an adorable funny and full of beans dog and his family love him to bits. Even when he has trashed the kitchen.  

And lets face it whats not to love? Hes gorgeous!

That dull

Berners are not blessed with brain. Tasha proved this today by getting stuck halfway up, or down, the stairs. She for some reason thought it would be a good idea to attempt them, got her back legs 3 steps up and then just stopped, could not go forward, or back. So cried until rescue. She is that dull.

8 June 2014 is the 3rd Annual Dolyhir Bernese Mountain Dog Hunt. This will be bigger and better than ever. Treasure hunt, dog show, competitions, pet shop stall, craft stall, country cakes and sweets, a huge paella and of course the obligatory pig roast. Make the date in your diary, tell your friends, face book it, whatever (wevs) and make sure you come along and have a fun day with the Dolyhir Clan. You will also be helping raise money for charity.
