Sad tidings

This  lovely lady, Lossie, is Reba's mother. Reba is the Dolyhir Clan Matriarch and mother to Elf and Bliss who have had their pups which currently take up nearly all our time at HQ. So in other words Lossie is the great grandmother of the Dolyhir Clan and through Reba has 21 grandpups and then through Nala, Elf and Bliss has 20 great grandpups.
Sadly Lossie died today, she went over the rainbow bridge after nearly ten and a half years living a joyous life in Cornwall with her devoted owners Jan and Martin.
Jan was kind enough to trust us with Reba some 6 and half years ago when we were novice Berner owners and thanks to her and Lossie we live a very exciting life with the Dolyhir Clan.
Lossie was a fabulous dog and dear friend to her family and will be long missed. We hope that Jan and Martin can take comfort from knowing that thanks to Lossie there are many more Berners in the world, many more families sharing the joy these wonderful dogs bring and that Lossie's genes, particularly those of good temperament and longevity will be passed from generation to generation and her contribution to the Bernese Mountain Dog blood line will last forever.
