The Fab Four.....The story so far

Well we all like a birth story, so here's Reba's. Having given every sign she was about to give birth, the digging, the chasing cats, the taking your hand off up to elbow in her eagerness to gain extra calories from her titbits we left her at 1am, exhaustion finally getting the best of us. At 2.15 am she came upstairs and asked to be let out for her wees and poos and all was well in the cottage.
4am there was a strange noise from the landing, a plop snuffle sound. The bipeds of the cottage sprang into action and found Reba just having given birth the Snuffie. Reassuring squeaking told us all she was fine and so we took her and Reba downstairs to the whelping box. 4.20 am and Ikkle popped out and then everything ground to a complete halt. Worryingly for an hour no contractions so a very early trip to the vet, an injection of an unspellable drug that is supposed to boost contractions. Back at the ranch Reba had zero contractions. More worry. So back the vet for an x ray and confirmation that there were two more puppies. The x ray process was amazing, somehow consent was given by Reba to be pinned down with sandbags to keep her still, but I digress. What was needed now was a cesarean, this needed two vets and as it was still only 7 am another emergency call, another vet and thankfully two pups were found alive and kicking, Trojan and Ringo. Trojan so named as he was a whopping 1.5 pounds, half a pound heavier than his brother and sisters. By 9am everyone was home and snoozing. Except the bipeds who had work/childcare and smallholding to get on with.
